“Fashion is what designers offer you four times a year. And style is what you choose.” — Lauren Hutton
The new year is here and it comes with a new style for a new you. New Year’s resolutions may fade, but fashion is forever.
Athens has been unseasonably warm this year, making it difficult to plan outfits for the day. Luckily, these styles can be switched up for warmer and cooler days. These are the main fashion trends for winter 2023:
Cargo pants: not just for your dad
Cady Heron wore cargo pants, so you should too. I love street fashion and cargo pants are a street item. You will look warm and elegant in these pants this winter. Don’t worry if camouflage isn’t your color. The cargo fit comes in jeans, faux leather and carpenter’s pants.
Emily Ratajkowski and Hailey Bieber are just two examples of how pants can look super chic. For warmer winter days, a black turtleneck or a long-sleeved top in a neutral color will match the relaxed atmosphere. For cooler days, throw on a puffer coat to add a new level of chic.
Don’t worry, it’s fake
Nothing screams winter more than a giant fur coat. While looks can kill, we don’t want them to actually kill. Faux fur coats are not only animal friendly, but the intricate patterns and colors elevate any outfit.
Solid colors like brown, black and white are super sophisticated, but you can also go avant-garde and include fun and quirky patterns. A night out in the city center is the best setting for a cropped hooded coat. A date party or fancy event is best for a longer, more elegant coat. In any case, the clothes will serve you and others.
Vibrations up to the thigh
Show off your long legs this winter with thigh-high boots. Over the knee boots are a fashion accessory and will make any outfit that much better.
It’s never too cold to wear shorts or a skirt. Shorter pants go perfectly with thigh-high boots. Besides, who would want to cover such beautiful footwear? A beautiful, longer blazer with a tweed skirt or shorts gives a professional yet youthful vibe to any occasion.
Black is the new black
There is never too much black. You may have worn all black during your high school emo phase, but all black looks super stylish and put together. Last summer, it made a big impression on fashion, and it continues in winter.
Must have items include faux leather pants and jackets, black knit dresses and black jeans. To pull the look together, black chelsea boots and faux leather complement it perfectly. If it’s a particularly sunny day, adding a pair of sunglasses will add even more class and professionalism to your outfit.
