DISH: Miznon
As someone who is completely uninterested in cooking/chopping and making food in general, I’m always in favor of a restaurant. Miznon, run by Israeli chef Eyal Shanai, specializes in overstuffed Tel Aviv-inspired pies and bustling atmospheres. I visited the Paris branch a few months ago and despite the same no-nonsense approach, the new Notting Hill branch was a serene experience by comparison – the chorus of unintelligible shouts and French inflections absent from the streets of West London.
The menu is a bit stressful – written in comics and full of jokes – but the food is that magical combination of things – fast, tasty and affordable. Special highlights include whole roasted cauliflower (a signature that can be seen plastered all over Instagram) and whatever magical concoction went into a deep-fried bowl of banana caramel. Special praise should be given to the chicken pie. Was it tahini? Was it tzatziki? I have no idea, but it certainly beat the wilted zucchini and carton of soup waiting in my fridge.
LOVE: Seungjin Yang
Continuing to feed my current obsession with interiors, instagram explore recently offered up a dose of tactile bubblegum pink perfection in the form of the Seungjin Yang Balloon Chair. The Seoul-based artist specializes in sculptural seating that really blisters the Barbie girl in my brain and takes me back to a state of childlike wonder. While I’d love to have one in every color, it’s the peptobismal pink iteration that really caught my eye. A girl can dream…
WASH: @accidentalinfluencer and @double3xposure
Two twins from Atlanta, Molly and Reese, publish the perfect trifecta of fashion, food and interiors. There’s a lot of mid-length skirts and mid-century furniture combined with dissociative sulking and I seem to save every post of them. Besides being influencers (coincidentally or not), they recently walked in Gucci’s double extravaganza and seem to be wearing chic outfits, posing with Margiela bags and eating perfectly poached eggs day in and day out. Sign me up.

WEARING: Aeliza
This week I’m shedding light on the latest collection from fashion brand Aeliza, whose latest mission statement encourages us to ‘think bigger’. With front logos and campaigns focused on the individual, Aeliza creates long-lasting pieces that encourage us to wear our individuality on our chest. With the encouragement of owning clothing that has a personal connection to you, pieces are sure to be kept for a long time and worn again and again. I just got the black hoodie and I know it will be in my regular rotation for a while.
READING: My year of rest and relaxation
If you’re looking for a book to get you out of your reading slump, I’d highly recommend getting a copy of My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh. Set in New York in the year 2000, the unnamed protagonist devotes a year of her life to sleep, and I just finished the entire book in a quick two days.
USING: Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes! Mascara
Love in Wonderland would not be complete without a Grail cosmetic product. I can’t go by without giving a shout out to the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes! brown mascara if you want to change your beauty routine.

wears: ATTIC Vintage
Living near Brick Lane means avoiding the allure of buying a vintage item or two is a daily battle my soul has to contend with. However, few shops in this vintage mecca appeal to me as much as ATIKA. The 6,000-square-foot, five-room, two-story store is a playground for anyone looking to fill a hole in their closet with vintage must-haves, and I recently succumbed to trying to alleviate the pesky January blues. I picked up a basic pair of black combat pants and a classic Sergio Tacchini t-shirt, both of which were already worn in the office because he had been detangling for weeks. Fortunately, my vintage cravings are adequately satisfied, although the temptation of returning to ATTICA on a Sunday afternoon may not be something I will be able to resist.
Listening: Celebrity Memoirs Book Club
A podcast-saturated society is what we live in in 2023, and wading through endless mediocre options can be exhausting. As such, only a select few make it into my regular audio rotation. However, the sound of New York comedians Claire Parker and Ashley Hamilton known as Celebrity Memoir Bookclub has become an essential component of my listening habits, with their witty, incisive discussion of all things celebrity memoir now a companion to my relaxing evening routine. All from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Garcelle Beauvais, Island of loveMolly-Mae and acting titan Will Smith put their written works under the microscope of Parker and Hamilton and their opinions are truly never lacking.

WEARING: July child
I like to wear fun jewelry to spice up an outfit. My July Child’s rings have become a go-to for almost every outfit I wear. I always check out their New In pages to see their latest designs and I am never disappointed.
USING: Blush Rose Inc
I feel like no one talks enough about the Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Rose Inc. beauty brand. I bought one of her blushes on the recommendation of a make-up artist and it’s simply amazing. It gives my skin such a beautiful natural glow, which is important to make me look less like a corpse in the winter months.
VISITING: Saatchi Gallery
I was recently at the Saatchi Gallery for their latest exhibition The New Black Vanguard which showcases some of the most amazing contemporary black fashion photographers. The photography is amazing and ranged from high fashion to family portraits and it was so refreshing to see such young creatives being celebrated. I have to see!

Scrolling: Lara Violetta
I’m always finding new cool girls to obsess over, and the mainstay of my obsessions was Lara Violetta. Channeling her ultra-chic style via YouTube as well as her flawless Instagram feed, she delivers look after look. Her YouTube videos show her enviable Parisian life, where she flits from exhibitions to fancy dinners in the dreamiest designer cuts. Her outfit that I’ve been loving lately features crumpled silver Tabi boots and a fluffy Margiela bag. I’m not a criminal, but Lara Violetta is definitely on my mugging list.
Consuming: Nymphet Alumni
The Nymphet Alumni podcast is for those who are chronically online. But that’s exactly why I can’t help but put on my headphones as soon as I see that a new episode is out. Combining fashion and the internet – two of my favorite domains – the Nymphet Alumni girls unpack trends like ‘Blokette’ and ‘Russian Bimbocore’ through the lens of cultural criticism. I really enjoy thinking about all these microtrends in a more academic way, but maybe that’s just because I want to put my art degree to good use.
Listening: Cranberries – Everyone else is doing it, so why can’t we?
The Cranberries album from 1993 Everyone else is doing it, so why can’t we? it was an instant classic upon release, and this week I’ve been listening to it like there’s no tomorrow. The other day I came across TikTok – which is my frame of reference for most things – that explored a vocal technique used by singer Dolores O’Riordan. This is called ‘keening’ – a loud wailing for the dead in the Gaelic Celtic tradition. I’ve always found songs like “Linger” and “Sunday” terribly melancholic – and this fact opened my eyes to why. Inject it!
