A women’s club that will host an annual fashion show
The Murrysville Woman’s Club will host its annual spring fashion show at 10 a.m. March 25 at the Lamplighter Restaurant in Salem.
Breakfast will be followed by a fashion show by Marge Predmore. Club members will organize a draw for baskets. All proceeds will go to the club’s community projects.

Comedy Nights to Benefit Westmoreland Trails, Parks
Two nights of stand-up comedy will benefit Westmoreland County’s trails, as well as the county’s parks and concert series.
The first will be on Feb. 11 from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Colton Hall, 3100 Blocks Road in the Claridge neighborhood of Penn Township. Tickets are $35 per person and can be purchased at Ginny’s, 5549 Old William Penn Highway in Murrysville or at the Westmoreland County Parks office, 194 Donohoe Road in Hempfield. The second will be on February 24th from 6am to 10pm at the Youngwood VFD Hose Company no. 1, 104 South Second Street in Youngwood. Tickets are $30 per person and can be purchased at the A&S Indoor Pistol Range, 617 Old Route 119 in Youngwood or the county parks office. Call 724-830-3959 for more.
Dinner is included with tickets to both events, which will include a 50/50 drawing and basket auctions. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Performances are for those 21 and older.
Delmont Library Programs

‘Night at the races’ for the FR baseball team
The Franklin Regional Baseball Boosters and sponsor A&L Motors will host “A Night at the Races” on February 25th to benefit the FR baseball team.
Pre-taped thoroughbred horse races will be announced by a veteran announcer during an evening of food, entertainment and friendly betting to raise money for FR baseball.
It will be on February 25 in the church of St. John the Baptist de la Salle, 497 Athena Drive in Delmont. Doors open at 17:15 and the first race starts at 18:00 Participants must be 21 years of age to attend. Ticket includes dinner at Jaden’s Catering with beer and mixers.

Active shooter training at ‘Boomers & Beyond’
The Church of the Sorrowful Mother Lecture Series “Boomers & Beyond” will feature Murrysville police officer and Westmoreland SWAT team member Sgt. Dave Coleman presents the “Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events,” or CRASE, training at 11 a.m. on February 14.
Coleman is a 14-year law enforcement veteran and trains Murrysville police on how to respond to active shooter events. It will present a 90-minute abbreviated version of the typical four-hour CRASE course.
There is no cost to participate. Participants can bring a bag lunch. Drinks are provided. The presentation will be in the church fellowship hall, 4202 William Penn Highway in Murrysville.

The College Men’s Association Club for Single Graduates will host a dinner on February 21st at Max’s Allegheny Tavern, 537 Suismon Street on Pittsburgh’s North Side.
