Selena Gomez and her sister stand out in fashion at the Golden Globes; full list of winners

Selena Gomez appeared at the Golden Globes for her first nomination and made a fashion statement on the red carpet.

The Grand Prairie native was up for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical for her role as Mabel Mora in Just the murders in the building. Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary School) was the winner.

Gomez wore a strapless wine-colored velvet Valentino dress with a high slit, puff sleeves, and a long train. She wore Santoni stiletto heels and De Beers diamonds.

Hairstylist Marissa Marino styled her high ponytail.

Gomez, 30, was accompanied by her 9-year-old sister Gracie Elliot Teefey, who wore a gold dress paired with matching heels and a sparkly purse.

The sisters showed off their stylish looks, with Selena hugging Gracie on the red carpet as they posed for photos.

The stars were back on Tuesday for the return of the Golden Globes to television, walking what was essentially a damp gray carpet (thanks to the weather) in relatively predictable looks — with a few notable exceptions.

Gomez was close with her sisters. Last August in Ella Gomez said Gracie puts things into perspective.

“I got to actually watch this little person grow into a human being and there’s no better feeling in the world,” Gomez said Ella. “I feel like I’m a parent in a way even though I’m not. It’s so rewarding to see that life was so simple at one point and I want to enjoy life as much as she does sometimes.”

In December, Gomez stopped by the Pocket Sandwich Theater in Carrollton to see her half-sister, Victoria Gomez, perform in Ebenezer Scrooge.
