Red carpet looks for tonight’s 80’s^th The Golden Globes are show stoppers. Celebrities arrive at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills where the show is always filmed. The trends on the red carpet are strong this year. The men showed tonight that they are not afraid to wear black, and the women are stunning in pink, red, blue, and many sparkle in sequins and crystals.

Colman Domingo sparkles in black on black on black custom Dolce & Gabbana. His double-breasted blazer is encrusted with crystals, and his husband Raúl Domingo wears an all-black matching look, minus the crystals. Also in black, Valentino features actor Eddie Redmayne, who takes off a large rosette. The Oscar-winning actor is nominated for his role in the Netflix series The Good Nurse. Jenny Slate from the animated film Marcel shell in shoeshe turned green wearing Rodarte.

There were no Golden Globes for two years, and Covid was not the only reason, but the controversy. In 2021 Los Angeles Times presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), the body that votes on who wins the Golden Globes. The HPFA was called out for not having a single black voting member, as well as for exposing how HFPA members engaged in smear campaigns against journalists who wanted membership – and HFPA members who sold tickets to the ceremony for high sums. Forbes business staff member Connor Murray detailed the HFPA’s troubled past in an article last week and how notable reforms have come about.

One notable change is that black comedian Jerrod Carmichael will host. It will be interesting to see what kind of jokes they will make about the return of the series. There are category changes in the TV Supporting Actor categories: Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series/Anthology or Motion Picture Made for Television, Best Supporting Actor in a Television Series/Musical Comedy or Drama, Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series/Anthology or Motion Picture Made for Television, and Best Supporting Actor actress in a television series/musical comedy or drama.

Tonight’s ceremony is highly anticipated as it is the biggest opening of the awards season, which runs from January (Golden Globes) to March 12^th (The Academy Awards).
